Museums in New York to visit. Located in Manhattan and Queens.
American Museum of Natural History
While the institution can be overwhelming, I focused on the anthropological sections. I took an anthropology class in college, so seeing realistic cranial sizes was super interesting.
Honest review: Great, but was a bit rushed at the end since they were closing. I spent around 2 hours there. For a seamless experience, consider getting the New York CityPass and add it to your itinerary. It is convenient to access via the B and C trains.
Another highlight was the dinosaurs and the life-sized animals.

Metropolitan Museum of Art
Only saw a part of it on purpose. My favorite parts were the Asian sections—I had seen at the Detroit Institute of Arts (or first saw with a keen eye) the scrolls of papyrus that I became accustomed to during my reading of Art History.
Another part I really enjoyed were the European paintings. Art history goes thoroughly through the history and time periods. Some of my favorites include works by Jacques-Louis David.
Jacques-Louis David was a French painter in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, specifically active between the 1780s and the 1820s. He was the leading figure of the Neoclassical movement.
I also enjoyed the armory.

THANK YOU. Someone recommended that I visit this spot. What a trip! It is a rather simple space but, in its own light, detailed and well thought out. Very environmental.
The Morgan Library & Museum
A little lighter on material but features incredible works. When I was there, they were displaying masterpieces by Caravaggio.
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio was a revolutionary Italian painter active in Rome, Naples, Malta, and Sicily between 1592 and 1610. He is widely considered the father of the Baroque style, globally renowned for his dramatic use of chiaroscuro.

Mercer Labs
Someone mentioned this to me, and I've heard of it a few times, so I finally checked it out. My favorite parts were the robots, especially the one playing the violin.

Wow. I was really uninspired, tired, and bored prior to going. It was a completely last-minute decision. Intriguing artists and works. Great space.
