What are the best lenses out there for the Canon EOS RP? This camera is part of Canon’s newest line up of Full Frame Mirrorless cameras from the Canon R, R5 & R6. In this article I will share some of the best lenses that you can get for the Canon EOS RP.
Now although the Canon EOS RP is significantly cheaper than its predecessors it is a great full frame camera that includes the new RF lens mount. This allows for upgrades with the latest releases to the RF lens line. This however can be more expensive than previous lenses.

The Canon eos r native lenses include the RF lenses. Most but not all these lense include image stabilization, new ring control adjustments and weather sealing. I’ve listed some of the best Canon EOS RP lenses below.
The Canon RF 50mm f1.8 stm is a part of canon’s latest line up of lenses. This lens is targeted towards portrait photographers and the classic photographers. The “Nifty fifty” is a classic focus length for beginner and professional photographers. This lens is also a stepping stone in prime lenses and fixed focal length.
Some special features of this lens include it’s low light abilities, wide open aperture and control ring. The control ring can change settings in camera such as the shutter speed, ISO or aperture.
The wide aperture lets 3 more stops of light in from normal kit lenses such as the Canon RF 24-105 f3.4-5. One downside about the latest camera is that it does not come with image stabilization which may make video recording or images.

The Canon RF 24-105 f/4L is a great range to take photographs in. This range is perfect for the everyday photographer. The focus is sharp and is for beginners and professionals alike. This is similar to the original Canon RP kit lens the Canon RF 24-105 F/3.5-5
This lens includes weather sealing on the mount and is around 24.5 oz. The focus ring and control ring are very usable and you can feel the quality in the lens.
The Canon RF 24-105 f/4L Is USM also includes the same feature of an adjustable control ring that can adjust ISO, aperture, shutter speed in camera. The lens also includes switches for manual focus/ autofocus and the image stabilization on and off switch.
This is a lot pricer then the other options but it is the next in the canon RF lineup that is popular and for good reasons. The fast lens ability with a f/2.8 aperture is worth part of the price. The focusing system is also quiet while recording video that is not noticeable by the Canon R camera.
The Canon lens includes image stabilization for less shaky footage and images handheld.
The lens also includes an adjustable control ring that can be configured in the camera to adjust the ISO, aperture and shutter speed. This lens is great for landscape photography, nature photography, and portrait photography.
This is the priciest on the list, and although there are a few other lenses more expensive on the list I thought I’d share this one as it has some great features to it. The 70-200 range is a classic range for portrait photography and sports photography to create great depth of field without flattening out the background.
The lens is weather sealed on the mental lens mount. It is very fast at autofocusing. The lens includes the classic zoom ring, the control ring that adjusts settings in camera. It focuses to about 70 centimeters.
One of the nicests adjustments to this camera is the tripod mount that is attachable to the lens. This lens is definitely worth picking up if you have the budget for amazing photographs.
Alright- I get it the prices for the RF lenses still need to come down a bit. These are all fairly new lenses with new technologies. Howevere the older lenses can work just as well for the time being! Some of the lenses I suggest include the 50mm EF 1.8 , and 24-70mm f4.
These are great for many other full frame cameras as well. All you need to do to pair them with the Canon R series is a single adaptar (At the top of this article).
I know i just suggested the canon RF 50 f1.8, however currently this is about the same price as buying an adapter and a canon EF lens. If you want to save a bit of money go for this lens! It has standed the test of time and is popular among many photographers.
This lens provides great low light abilities, fast aperture. It is a great introduction to full frame prime lenses and the fixed lens range compared to a zoom lens. The Canon 50mm is one of my personal favorites as well.
The 50mm dominates in portrait photography , street photography, and taking casual photos. Although it should be noted that this lens does not include image stabilization.
